Tripbase.com Review - Budget Travel Your Way
There is a new awesome online travel utility available to budget travelers and backpackers searching for destinations. I love web 2.0, and I love when it churns out helpful travel websites, and here is the newest online budget travel helper.

Tripbase is a new travel search engine type utility that lets prospective travelers find destinations that would interest them. I imagine it would be especially helpful to travelers who have no idea where they want to go, and who are new to budget international travel.
Tripbase is a pretty self explanatory web application that probably doesn’t need a review or guide written by me, but I will write one anyways. (So it’d probably be easier to just play around on the site right now).
Simply, all you do is input your desired characteristics of a destination, as pictured above. The search engine will then spit out the top destinations with those characteristics. Every time I changed my travel desires, I pretty much got the top world destinations. So, for the “off the beaten trail” and “budget traveler” I highly recommend the following:
- Check the “hide popular destinations” box
- Change your type of trip to backpacking
- Change continents
After I did that, I was pretty impressed with the results that I received, and had a lot of fun playing around with the site. The results could get a bit better (which I’m sure they will over time), but overall, Tripbase is a great online travel search utility that can help find anyone a backpacking travel destination that fits their desires.
(I found tripbase via The Lost Globe - kudos)
