Which Backpack for backpacking in Europe?

So you want to backpack internationally, but do not know what backpack to get. Hopefully this guide will give you guidance to what type of backpack you should choose.

First, you have to decide whether you will be using your backpack as a daypack, or as your luggage. It’s a better idea to just pack very light, and to use it as your luggage. So assumming it’s your luggage, continue reading.

Since the only thing you will have is your backpack, it will have to be a pretty decent size. Check out a recommended packing list to see what you will all need.

  1. Just to add to it - make sure you buy quality! These bags are good quality, and worth it. I had one for almost ten years and 40 countries before it started showing any real wear n' tear.

    I bought a new bag, the Osprey Atmos that I plan on taking to Asia this summer!

  3. I'm looking for something that's versatile and light enough for a 4 week trip through Europe, but that I can also use for weekend backpacking trips in the mountains.

    Currently looking at the North Face Terra 60,

  4. Definitely looks like a solid bag. My teacher who went to Europe for a couple weeks had a North Face very very similar to that and I think she really liked it.
