Online Booking Revolution - Flyspy
By Nick October 2, 2006
Expect some changes with the traditional online travel booking sites like Travelocity, Orbitz, and Expedia, because of the pressures they feel from some new, young competitors. The way online travel booking happens now already seems archaich compared to the technology available.
So I’m going to make a short series reviewing the new, young competitors [hopefully] bringing on the online booking revolution.
The first new challenger to the big dogs in online travel is Flyspy.com Flyspy is a small, Minneapolis based website that shows a graph of the change in airfares by departure day. The graphs show flights for an entire month, and can be set for trips between 1 and 7 nights.

So, the catch? It’s only available for Minneapolis right now. I guess that is fine with me, since I fly out of there, but it is probably not too helpful for those not from the Minneapolis area. The site is planning on expanding its airlines and flights from destinations other than Minneapolis, so keep an close eye on it.

[...] Internet still Impacts Travel The internet and the Online Booking Revolution (Flyspy, Farecast, Farecompare, and Triptie) will continue to impact the travel industry 2007. With Web 2.0 staying strong, expect even better online travel tools developed in the next year for you to use at your disposal. After Web 2.0 bursts, there may be a drought until Web 3.0 starts up, but that’s several years away.So there are five of my not so risky travel predictions for the year 2007. If you have one of your own, feel free to leave it as a comment. [...]
