Mumbai / Stumble upon Open Travel Info

By Nick October 18, 2006

So I was bored, and I decided to watch TV even though Sundays aren’t “TV nights” for me. I didn’t know what to watch, so I started to watch a little of the [not so] Amazing Race. This particular episode they were in India, and I thought to myself, “Self, you don’t know anything about India…that’s bad.” I’ve heard of the India’s computer programmers and their rising demand for oil, but I didn’t know enough about them to satisfy my continual thirst for knowledge of the universe.

So I decided to do a little research for myself (online of course) about India, more specifically, Mumbai. I learned alot, but stayed up too late doing so. I ran across a thorough Mumbai, India guide over at Open Travel Info.

While I’ve been reviewing websites alot lately, I’ve decided to take a closer look at Open Travel Info. The site is a neat little online travel community. It offers a little bit of everything that is expected in a travel community: photo galleries, travel forum, travel deal listing, and the all important user generated content.

OpenTravelInfo’s best feature is its user generated content. The site has helpful travel guides that can be submitted by anyone. What sets them apart is their revenue sharing. Similar to my post on the $200 travel idea, OpenTravelInfo allows its users to earn revenue. Instead of a contest, the site allows the community to make money through the Google adsense ads that are displayed on the page with the user guide.

So maybe stop by OpenTravlInfo.com. Read some guides, write some guides, and make some dinero. Enjoy.
