71 Most expensive (least expensive too) Cities List
By Nick August 15, 2006
I am a little late to the party, but UBS (Switzerland’s major bank - Union Bank of Switzerland) came out with a list of the 71 most expensive cities to live in. It is rather predictable, but it is nonetheless interesting to look through.
The list doubles as a budget traveller’s destination list by just flipping the list around. So Kuala Lumpar is actually number one. But really, it is a good reference when finding destinations to visit where you can get by on a few dollars a day.

The top 5 were:
- London
- New York
- Oslo
- Tokyo
- Zurich
The budget travel remix list looked like this:
- Kuala Lumpar
- Dehli
- Manila
- Lima
- Vilnius (It’s in Lithuania but…. I didn’t know that without Wikipedia’s help. Learn something new every day)
The entire list can be found over here at citymayors.com.
But of the all the cities on the list, I was surprised Lima was that cheap to live in. That definitely helps Peru’s status on my dream travel destinations. Enjoy the list.
